my summer perfumes.

Now that the heat has come into full force in south Florida, it's time to put away those warm & decadent perfumes of the winter & bust out with the juicy, summery scents we all grab for on these sunny days. I'll tell you what I use on a regular rotation & hopefully introduce you to something new.

G

What's super cute, tiny & smells like a pina colada ? It's Harajuku Lovers G eau de toilette. I love this for the summer, especially when I've just finished spending an entire day at the beach & looking to keep that beachy, carefree mood going well into the night. The scent almost reminds me of that yummy scent of suntan oil. I don't mind the minuscule size of it because I really don't need that much. The 1 oz. size is just enough to last me two summers & probably one more. According to Sephora.com, G has notes of coconut, jasmine & cotton woods. You can find this at most department stores, Sephora & online.

Avon mark Instant Vacation Costa Rica Fragrance Mist
This is my absolute favorite for the summer. It's mark Instant Vacation Costa Rica fragrance mist. Long name, right ? mark is a little sub-brand of Avon, mostly marketed towards teens to 20-somethings. This stuff smells awesomeeee. It says on the box "Indulge in this ripe, ravishing fragrance inspired by Costa Rica. An exotic medley of luscious fruit, cool rainforest & golden sunshine creates the ultimate adventure for the senses." It actually just smells like watermelon & guava. More watermelon than anything, at least to my nose. It's juicy yet light. The only bad thing about it is that its lacking in staying power. I also regret not grabbing a second bottle because mark doesn't carry it anymore. I'll haveta save as much as I can of my single bottle.

Orange Sapphire is one of Bath & Body Works newest scents. This eau de toilette is another perfect summer scent with a twist. Orange Sapphire is said to have been "inspired by the fiery passion and sunswept beaches of Brazil" with notes of exotic blood orange, white jasmine, golden honey & citrus sangria. It's fruity with an extra zest. I think it's perfect for daytime as well as nighttime use. To strengthen its staying power, I recommend layering it with the shower gel & body lotion.

Also from Bath & Body Works is their new Lemon Vanilla, part of their Summer Vanillas line. This stuff smells sooooooo good. I simply cannot get enough of it. It's super sweet & reminds me of lemon cookies. It literally smells just like it. The best part about this is even thought it's only available as a body mist, it's ridiculously long lasting. Half the time, I don't even use the matching body lotion & I can still smell it on me hours later. It's definitely a favorite of mine & I recommend it to everyone :]

I hope my post wasn't too long ;x I have a tendency to get really detailed sometimes lol. Let me know what your favorite summer scents are by leaving me some comments. Maybe I'll wanna try some of your faves. Enjoy dearies ! ♥

first OOTD :]

Well, technically, this was what I wore last Wednesday ;x But better late than never, right ? & if the pictures look kinda off, it's because I still haven't mastered the right angle to capture my whole body.

Please excuse my horribly bushy eyebrows. I hadn't had them done yet at the time. The tank top is from New York & Company, jeans & sandals are from Marshalls & I got the scarf when I went to Portugal last summer. I don't remember what I had on my face except for my lips, which was MAC Viva Glam Gaga & Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pink Pop. For the record, it was crazyyyy hot that day.

So, there it is. I hope you enjoy it. Comments as well as constructive criticism are appreciated. I'll try & make some more posts later. Thanks darlings :]

Oops ;x

I'll admit it--I've been a very bad blogger. I haven't updated in over two months ! I suppose I kinda just lost some inspiration to write. But I really do wanna try & make an effort at this thing. I made it for a reason, didn't I ?

I want to start making outfit-of-the-day posts. I've been accumulating one hell of a wardrobe these past few months. I can't help it. I'm addicted to shopping but I do know my limit. Spoken like a true addict lol.

My nail polish collection has been growing at an alarming pace. It's quite ridiculous. This may not sound like much to some of you but so far, I have 42 nail polishes. Here's my growing spreadsheet ;]

I'll try & include more pictures in my posts as well. Here's one now of a past mani:

China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. Isn't it so cool ?

Anyhoo, that's all for now loves. Leave some comments & I promise I'll leave more posts ! Tooda-loo :D

PS; Can anyone recommend some blogs that offer layouts ? I need a spiffier new one for mine.

some cute shoes & some deals.

My New Year's Resolution should have been to not spend so much money in such a short amount of time, as I have been known to do. Oh dearrr. . but I suppose it's a bit too late for that. I actually have been trying though, but it doesn't help when there are so many temptations around every corner :P

I'm thinking about picking up a pair of these soon:

These sassy lil' things are from Target from their Mossimo line. They're called Presta Wedge Sandals. I think they would be perfect to wear during the spring/summer. I had already tried them on the last time I went to my local Target, but didn't pick them up because I wasn't sure how I felt about them. As the days past, ever so often my mind would go back to those shoes & I decided I really wanted them. Don't let the height fool you either; they're not as painful as they look.

In addition to Target, I also saw an ad for Ulta that if you make any $20 Urban Decay, you get TWO of their 24/7 eyeliners for freeeeeeeeee. How can anyone pass up that deal ?! Especially if you have some coupons too ;] The April issue of Cosmopolitan & Allure's March issue each contain a $5 offer coupon with a purchase of $10+ so there's a little gem for ya :]

That's it for tonight. I really need to start updating this blog more often.

Enjoy lovelies ! ♥

what a weeeeek; but TGIF :D

I'm already slacking on my posts.

I've been a bit busy with school. Let's just say I won't be forgetting that I have papers to write on the day that they're due anytime soon.

I did a bit of some shopping last weekend, so I wanna share the goodies with you :] I'll try to find time to snap some pictures soon.

I'll tell you one thing I got; Urban Decay's new Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden. It's the new matte one. I've been trying to hold off from buying a new one for as long as I could. I had the original UDPP and tried to use up every last bit of it that I could before restocking. Then I got the UD Deluxe Eyeshadow Palette & tried to stick to the itty bitty UDPP that comes with it. Eventually you realize that you must stop being a cheap ass & go out & get the real thing.

I was in the mood to try something different so I decided to pick up Eden. The primer is more opaque than the original UDPP (no, I've never tried Sin) but the consistency is still the same. It does significantly brighten up your eye area. I've also heard that it can conceal any eye imperfections you may have, such as blood vessels showing through the thin skin of your eyelid, puffiness, dark circles, etc. I think that sounds about right. I'll definitely vouch for the eye brightening claim.

It does keep away the nasty creasies, but I think the original UDPP still is the best of all the primers. For me, I've noticed creases showing up a bit sooner compared to the original. It doesn't bother me much though. Better to have one eyeshadow primer than none at all !

love that new angled tip.

first applied.

then blended in. you can't even tell on my hand.
but there's a difference on your eye :]

& that's that ! hopefully I can find time to post more often.

Oh, & did you hear about Lady GaGa's "The Fame" album going DIAMOND ? That's insane ! That means she sold 10 million albums. When was the last time that happened ? Especially in an age where no one actually buys music anymore. Ahh, I love GaGa ♥ Speaking of which, I got MAC's Viva Glam GaGa lipstick a few weeks ago so I'll be talking about that soon.

Have a good weekend ladies :]

start of something new :]

Since last night, I've had this urge to just totally redo my blog. Instead of a place to vent about feelings & such, I want to start talking about my favorite things--make up & beauty products ! How excitinggg. I know everyone & their mother is doing one of these now but I don't care how many people read it. As long as I can share what I know with just ONE person, that'll make me happy. But I still have a lot to do, like think up of a name for my blog & find or make a layout. I used to make layouts on LiveJournal but I forgot how to ! & I guess the HTML between Blogger & LJ are two complete different things.

Anyway, on to the good stuff. My first review ! :D A few days ago, I went to Sephora & picked up a Sephora by OPI polish. I got What A Broad. It's a rich, pretty grape color. I have pictures but forgive me for the sloppiness around the cuticle. I just did my nails last night & was dying to go to bed.

What A Broad w/flash.

What A Broad w/no flash.

I am so in love with this color. It's so pretty ! I already have another Sephora by OPI polish in Never Enough Shoes but that one was a bit of a disappointment. It looks absolutely lovely in the bottle. It's black with tons & tons of shimmer. With the amount of shimmer you see in the bottle, you'd think it would come up on your nails but it doesn't ;[ You can bareeeeeely see it, but I'm still keeping the damn thing.

With these two Sephora by OPI nail polishes, the consistency is perfect--not too thick, not too runny. The brush is thin, unlike some polishes that have those super wide, awkward brushes that only allow you to get one swipe of color at a time. You have so much more freedom to swipe color wherever you want, like the hard-to-reach area of nail right next to the cuticle. With a topcoat, I've found these do last a pretty long time. I wanna say like 5 days. That's a long time for me since I like to switch it up often. I plan on getting more of these. I hear I'm With Brad is a super cool dark red & one of my good friends has Under My Trenchcoat, this really pretty yet odd looking nude-taupe color. We can't decide what we think of that one haha.

So the verdict on SbO is two, pretty painted thumbs up ! :]

Hope you enjoyed the first post ♥
